1) 76 ADDITIONAL WAYS SUGAR CAN RUIN YOUR HEALTH
In addition to throwing off your body's homeostasis and wreaking havoc on your metabolic processes, excess sugar has a number of other significant consequences.
Nancy Appleton, PhD, author of the book Lick the Sugar Habit, contributed an extensive list of the many ways sugar can ruin your health from a vast number of medical journals and other scientific publications.
1.Sugar can suppress your immune system and impair your defenses against infectious disease.
It should now be crystal clear just how damaging sugar is. You simply cannot achieve your highest degree of health and vitality if you are consuming a significant amount of it.
Fortunately, your body has an amazing ability to heal itself when given the basic nutrition it needs, and your liver has an incredible ability to regenerate. If you start making changes today, your health WILL begin to improve, returning you to the state of vitality that nature intended. Source: mercola.com
2) NATURAL REMEDIES FOR FACIAL BREAKOUT AND DRY SKIN
Maintaining the skin's natural moisture helps keep the face glowing and blemish-free. There are commercial chemical preparations available to help do just that, but you can also check out the natural food section of your supermarket or even your own pantry to find solutions for dry skin and break-outs.
Honey
Honey is a natural antibacterial, according to an article in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, and will clean out the pores and slough off dry skin, which heals blemishes. Honey can be applied directly to blemishes for about 15 minutes and then rinsed off, or it can be mixed in with other ingredients and used as a face mask. Raw honey is best, but if that's not available, organic honey is another option.
Yogurt Mask Yogurt contains lactic acid and acts as a mild exfoliant on dry skin, according to an article at Natural-healing-guide.com. Full-fat yogurt that contains live cultures nourishes the skin and sloughs off dead scales. Slather on a thick layer and allow it to dry for about 15 minutes before rinsing with warm water. Enhance the effects of the yogurt by adding a handful of pulverized oatmeal (whir it in a blender or a food processor) and gently massaging the face as you apply the mask.
Petroleum Jelly Petroleum jelly is effective on dry skin because it locks in moisture and creates a barrier to debris, according to Mothernature.com. Add a thin layer to particularly dry areas of your skin after you've cleansed your face before bed. Leave it on overnight and wash your face as usual in the morning. If your dry skin extends to your feet and hands, apply a thick layer of the jelly and then put on socks or gloves to get the best result.
Prevention Preventing dry skin will also prevent the associated break-outs. Health-care professionals in "The Doctors Book of Home Remedies" suggest that less is more when cleansing the skin. Wash your face daily and moisturize, but use cool water instead of hot, and don't scrub the skin. Gently massage your face and pat it dry, leaving some dampness on the skin as you apply a moisturizer or face mask.
Make sure the make-up you use doesn't clog the pores, and wash it off as soon possible. In addition, if you notice break-outs or extra dry skin after beginning with a new type or brand of make-up, discontinue use to see if that helps your skin heal.
3) CURE YOUR ALLERGIES NATURALY
There are dozens of types of allergies that can affect people. Some can be merely irritating and some can be extremely dangerous. For many who are sensitive to medications or simply do not like the idea of medical treatment for allergies, it is best to look into a natural allergy cure and ask your doctor if it may work for you.
The best natural way to help allergies is to prevent them from happening in the first place. The first step to take is to have yourself properly tested by a doctor. Testing has gotten far more accurate in recent years and can pin-point the specific elements that cause the reactions. This is great because it can allow individuals to come into contact with things they previous thought they were allergic to. For example, you could think you were allergic to a type of food, when you are actually only allergic to one small component of the food.
In this way, people can be better diagnosed and can avoid these allergens. It will make the need for medication far less likely. It also allows individuals to search for products that do not have the allergen in them. Before the testing, one may think he or she was allergic to bread or wheat. In reality, they are allergic to the gluten in bread crusts, so they can either avoid eating that part or buy bread without gluten.
One very old but under-used way to decrease the symptoms of allergies is to build up an immunity. This is something to be worked out with your doctor, but it is a natural cure. Just as some poisons can be used as cures if they are in the correct small dosage, so can the allergen cure you of your allergies. It is a matter of one's tolerance.
This can be done in a variety of ways, depending on the allergy in particular. You could have it enter your blood stream via injections and vaccinations. You could have direct skin contact if it is a skin allergy. You could take it in a manner of oral ways. The key is to have the right doses and have a careful schedule planned by your doctor.
The amount is then increased slightly. Your body is allowed to get used to that amount. It is then increased again. Eventually you will be taking in large amounts of an allergen--amounts that once would have given you a severe reaction.
There are other ways you can cure your allergies in natural ways. These methods are usually in the form of vitamins and herbal supplements. They improve your immune system and could possibly undo the effects of allergens before you notice any symptoms. The great thing about vitamin supplements is that they usually do not require a prescription and are fairly inexpensive.
Depending on the allergy, your doctor could suggest other remedies. These may include acupuncture, Chinese medicine, naturopathy and homeopathy, and perhaps different forms of therapy. Through testing and professional medical advice, you can find ways to get rid of your troublesome allergies without relying on medication.
