EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE

EFT: WHAT IS IT?

According to Wikipedia, EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique is a psychotherapeutic alternative medicine tool based on a theory that negative emotions are caused by disturbances in the body's energy field and that tapping on the meridians while thinking of a negative emotion alters the body's energy field, restoring it to "balance."

DIY ACUPUNCTURE FOR THE EMOTIONS

Emotional Freedom Techniques is a healing tool based on the theory that our emotions and physical symptoms are linked to the underlying energy system of the body. That energy system is the acupuncture meridian system known to the Chinese for thousands of years.

Developed by Stanford Engineer Gary Craig, EFT was launched as a treatment technique in 1998. He still actively teaches it and continues to develop and improve on it's many applications.

The underpinning theory of Emotional Freedom Technique is simple, yet sheds a whole new light on our emotional experiences and how we interpret them.

Gary Craig's discovery statement asserts that: "The cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy system." He believes that "our unresolved negative emotions are major contributors to most physical pains and diseases."

HOW DOES GARY CRAIG'S EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE WORK?

Chinese Medicine and the ancient Indian Science of Ayurveda both support the concept that our emotional experiences, in particular resentments, hurts and anger, contribute significantly to the development of disease in the human body.

While the Emotional Freedom Technique theory that all negative emotions are caused by a disruption in the energy system of the body may sound odd at first, the idea is far from new. In fact, it's 5,000 years old and was more recently enforced by Albert Einstein who taught that everything is made of energy.

The reason Emotional Freedom Technique works so well is purely because it embraces the secrets of Eastern healing traditions that have been overlooked by the west.

Acupuncture is finally attracting interest, and research has been conducted to try and figure out how and why it works. Yet that research will always seek to put acupuncture in a box that makes sense to what conforms in the West. The impressive results of acupuncture have been called a placebo effect, when, in truth, they are due to an ancient understanding of meridian energy circuitry which runs throughout all living creatures.

GARY CRAIG'S EFT & ACUPUNCTURE

In acupuncture, points are carefully selected by practitioners trained to read the maps of the meridian system. Emotional Freedom Technique is based on a select few of these potent points known to excel in giving emotional and physical relief to anyone who simply learns where they are and how to use them. It doesn't require expert knowledge, or the use of needles, the points are simply stimulated by tapping on them with the fingertips.

We need only look to the fact that in China hundreds of people every day undergo heart surgery using nothing but acupuncture for anesthesia, to realize that anything based on the solid healing foundation that acupuncture has to offer is worth exploring further.

Gary Craig developed EFT as an incredibly user friendly access point to the benefits of acupuncture and the healing potential latent within us all to deal with our physical and emotional pain. It has a track record for relieving negative emotions, anxiety and trauma has earned it the descriptive title of “acupuncture for the emotions, but without the needles.”

THE EMOFREE CHALANGE

There's an old saying that we should judge a tree by it's fruits. The fruits of EFT can be quickly and easily tasted by learning the basics and setting it to work on dissolving any negative emotion. This technique takes just 5 minutes to learn, and then you can put it to the test of your own direct experience.

Emotional Freedom Technique has been reported successful in thousands of cases covering a huge range of emotional, health and performance issues. It often works where nothing else will.

The Benefits and Possible Limitations of EFT

You can make enormous strides by introducing EFT into your emotional therapy process (whether you are a professional or a client). Instead of taking months or years using conventional "talk therapy," Emotional Freedom Technique often does the job for you cleanly and thoroughly in one or two sessions ... and we sometimes achieve noticeable results in a few brief rounds of it. We label these near-instant results as "one minute wonders."

Once you have seen how well this technique clears out emotional debris, your next step is to notice how physical ailments start to fade. Headaches, back pains and other discomforts often tend to improve or vanish as emotional issues improve (this is the essence of Mind Body Medicine). Your vision may become clearer and everyday stress may take less toll on your system.

Accordingly, you can apply it to just about everything. That is one of the most astonishing things about it. You use the same basic procedure for your fear of public speaking as you do for improving your golf score.

You can also use it for everything from the common cold to multiple sclerosis (consult your physician, of course). Further, we have had reported successes for nearly every emotional issue on the books...including fear, trauma, depression, grief and schizophrenia. Some consider it the missing link in the pursuit of health and happiness.

Although in some cases it is not 100%, it usually works well and the results are sometimes spectacular. Because of it's unique approach, it can work where nothing else does and, to many, it represents a Doorway to a new Healing High-Rise.

You will find that Emotional Freedom Technique is usually quite gentle and you can often achieve substantial relief with little or no pain. This is not true for everyone, however. Some people's issues are so intense that the mere mention of them causes emotional or physical pain. But, given time, even these may be resolved efficiently with this technique.

A small percentage of our population (best estimate is less than 3%) have serious emotional and physical disabilities and thus newcomers to EFT are advised to exercise common sense in this regard. While you can use it to generate impressive relief for many people, please consult qualified health practitioners where appropriate and don't go where you aren't qualified.
